Shift Supervisor - Methyl Ester

Job Summary: Responsible for supervising the workforce to meet daily production and maintenance requirements, through effective use of available personnel and equipment while maintaining high levels of product quality, employee safety and customer service.

• Supervise and train production employees through scheduling, monitoring and assisting as needed. Take a lead role in locomotive and rail safety training.
• Monitor equipment and facility for proper operation: by reviewing logs, reports and inspections.
• Assist with production and maintenance as needed including loading, unloading and maintenance work order task generation and completion.
• Lead by example - no task is worth completing if conducted in an unsafe manner.
• Supervise daily production to meet the 1^st time every time quality parameters.
• Assist with inventory control as needed, including measuring and sampling.
• Enforce and follow company policies and procedures.
• Have the ability to write reports.
• Attend company meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management. Including filling in when and where needed.

• Able to work rotating night and day shifts.
• Knowledge of biodiesel production principles and practices. 
• Knowledge of supervisory techniques to accomplish instruction, training and motivation of employees. 
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations as they apply to plant operations.
• Skill in negotiating, analytical thinking and problem solving. 
• Ability to organize employee work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the applied sciences (engineering, biology, physics, chemistry, or food science) preferred. 
• Supervisory experience is a plus, preferably in a biodiesel facility.
