    Job Summary: Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is currently seeking a Rail Equipment Coordinator in our corporate office in Omaha, NE. The person in this position would enjoy utilizing analytical skills on a daily basis and would maintain the company rail equipment.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    Our Rail Equipment Coordinator will receive training to become efficient in expediting and routing empty incoming and outgoing railcars in the AGP fleet. This person will also learn how to arrange for the maintenance and repair of railcars and learn how to maximize fleet availability. Over time this person will become well versed in rules and regulations established by the Department of Transportation and the Federal Railroad Association.

     

    Other duties that will be taught include:

     

    Reviewing and approving repair estimates and invoices. Updating necessary databases through entering daily pertinent information.

    Negotiating and managing rail car maintenance activity and records. Determining which repair shop to use, schedule times and follow up with shop to minimize down time for railcars.

    Reviewing problem cars and notify appropriate departments of delays and problems.

    Communicating with railroad management, plant personnel and car shops to ensure maximum fleet utilization. Periodically traveling to repair shops and plants to develop and maintain relationships.

    Completing Inspect Fleet Position and Fleet Change reports each morning and making corrections and address concerns.

    Providing transit reports and Estimated Times of Arrival to necessary departments.

    Tracking and reconciling rail freight charges for movements to / from shop.

    Negotiation of repair cost for projects within the railcar fleet.

    Completion and reconciliation of month end reports for accounting.

    Analyzing data to increase efficiencies in the Logistics Department.

    Qualifications

    Able to take initiative, required

    Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, required

    Knowledge of troubleshooting and conflict resolution techniques and procedures, preferred

    Awareness of principles and methods for moving goods by rail, including their relative costs, advantages, and limitations, preferred

    Bachelors degree, required
