Overview

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day hedging activities and assessing hedging strategies that support appropriate accounting treatment. In addition, this position will design and maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and followed. This position also performs various general accounting functions and is responsible for implementing changes in accounting procedures and system design affecting the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities of the Hedging Center
  • Review the daily company position report
  • Assist in implementing new procedures, procedures testing, and computer system upgrades
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute various financial statements and reports such as budgets, variance analysis, and special request financial reports for internal review and analysis
  • Prepare trucking financial statements and reconciliations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Excellent skills using Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with senior management, co- workers, and outside business contacts
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, planning, and organization skills
  • Experience in an agricultural commodity processing or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Hedging/Futures experience preferred
